Southwest Airlines baggage policy is fairly uncomplicated and is usually considered pretty passenger-friendly. Here are the main highlights about Southwest Airlines’ baggage policy:
1. Carry-On Baggage:
You are allowed one carry-on bag that will fit in an overhead bin. On the aircraft, you can bring onboard one personal item such as a purse, laptop bag, or small backpack measuring not larger than 18.5 x 13.5 x 8.5 inches and can fit under the seat in front of you.
– Its maximum dimensions are 24 x 16 x 10 inches, inclusive of wheels and handles.
2. Checked Baggage:
– Southwest Airlines allows passengers to have a couple of free checked bags dependent upon weight and size requirements.
– In checked bags, 50 pounds is the maximum weight and maximum dimension 62 inches from length + width + height.
Excess Baggage Fees:
– A fee for the third and each additional bag is charged on checked bags if more than three or more are checked. The charge for over, above two checked bags differs from airline to airline but was generally in the $75 range per bag.

6. Medical Equipment:
