Southwest Airlines does not have a definite time for early check-in, in itself; as with other airlines, like those stipulated in the illustration, they don’t have early check-in within 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight. Instead, this airline gives passengers the opportunity to check-in either online or with the Southwest app up to 24 hours before the scheduled time of departure of a passenger’s flight. If a passenger checks-in during that period, the seating of a passenger is determined by the boarding group. The boarding groups of passengers are established on a first-come-first served basis, that is, an order where passengers check-in.
If you need an early check-in in terms of boarding, Southwest operates on open seating, where the boarding groups go like this:
1. Group A (A1-A60)
2. B group (B1-B60)
3. C group (C1-C60)
The sooner you go for Southwest Airlines early check-in, the better your boarding position will be. If you want extra perks and flexibility you are able to pay for EarlyBird Check-In, which automatically checks you in 36 hours before the flight, so you have a bit of an edge on your boarding position.
Always check Southwest Airlines directly, or their actual website, for the most current information and policies. Get professional help and great offers on flights from Fly Travel Board at +1 (844) 539-5787.
